Xiaomi launched the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A with 18:9 display, MediaTek chipsets and Android Oreo in China last month. The Chinese OEM is in no mood to stop just here. It is working on the third Redmi 6 series phone, which will be slightly expensive and come with better specs than the ultra-affordable Redmi 6 and 6A. It is the Redmi 6 Pro. A new report notes that Xiaomi will launch the Redmi 6 Pro on June 25 in China. The report also suggests that Xiaomi may also launch the new Mi Pad 4 Android tablet alongside the Redmi 6 Pro.
Ahead of the launch, we have seen Redmi 6 Pro subject to several rumours and leaks. According to renders that leaked last week, Redmi 6 Pro is expected to follow the latest trend to include an iPhone X-like notch on top of the display. This means Redmi 6 Pro will be the only phone under the Redmi 6 series to sport a notch. Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A include thick bezels on top and bottom. Not only that, it will also be the first ever Redmi phone and the third phone from Xaomi to come with a notch, Mi 8 and Mi 8 SE being the first and second one.
Xiaomi has officially confirmed some specs of the Redmi 6 Pro last week. It said that the Redmi 6 Pro will come with a 19:9 display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, and a massive 4,000mAh battery.
Earlier last week, a Xiaomi phone with model number M1804C3CE got certified by TENAA certification site. Rumours suggest it could be the Redmi 6 Pro as the listing includes the same specs as confirmed Xiaomi for the Redmi 6 Pro.
According to the TENNA listing, the Redmi 6 Pro will come with a 5.84-inch display with Full HD+ (2280 × 1080 pixels) resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. It reveals that the phone will come with thick bezels all around. Like the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A, the Redmi 6 Pro is also tipped to run Android Oreo with MIUI 10 UI out-of-the-box, which Xiaomi launched very recently.
The TENNA listing also reveals that the Redmi 6 Pro phone will come in three RAM and storage options. The base model with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The second one with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The third and the most expensive of the three will come with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. The storage can be expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.
The listing revealed the camera spec also. The Redmi 6 Pro is expected to come with dual 12MP cameras on the back. On the front, the phone will include a 5MP single camera. As confirmed by the company already, the TENNA listing also shows the phone with a massive 4,000mAh battery. Sadly, rumours say that it will not support fast charging.
In terms of optics, the Redmi 6 Pro sports 12MP dual rear cameras and a 5MP single front camera. Below the camera, the phone will include a circular fingerprint sensor. Rumours say that from the back side the Redmi 6 Pro will look a lot like the Redmi Note 5 Pro.
