UPDATE: Snapchat has confirmed that users are struggling with the app and state they are working on a fix.
In a post on social media, the chat app said: “We’re aware many Snapchatters are experiencing crashing on the app. We’re looking into it and working on a fix!”

Snapchat fans have reported issues of the app crashing when trying to open the service on smartphones.
Independent website Down Detector has received hundreds of reports that Snapchat is down.
The outage tracker monitors social mentions around certain topics to detect outages across the world.
The issues appear to widespread with problems reported in Europe, India and the US.
Speaking on Twitter one user said: “Snapchat keeps closing down every time I open it.”
Whilst another added: “Just so those who have sent me snaps today know, my Snapchat just keeps shutting down every time I open it.”
This latest outage comes just a few months after Snapchat users were hit by problems in March.
The Snapchat issues affected users trying to send and receive snaps.
The official Snapchat Twitter account acknowledged the problem.
They tweeted: “Some Snapchatters are having trouble with the app. We’re aware of the issue and working on a fix! We recommend staying logged into your account.”
Snapchat recently confirmed that it is testing six-second long ads in Shows on its Discover section that won’t budge no matter how many times a user tries to tap to skip them.
This development has been coming for some time as Snapchat looks to placate advertisers who have grown frustrated by users who, on average, only stay on an ad for two seconds before skipping.
