After witnessing a good pre-Diwali weekend,
‘ has hit it out of the ballpark on Monday by recording one of the single highest days ever for a comedy film. The
directorial which features an ensemble cast has emerged out as a clear winner on Monday after collecting more than double what it did on the previous day. The film had dropped on Sunday due to Diwali but was all set for a huge Monday.
As per the latest report on the Boxofficeindia.com, on Monday, the film has managed to rake in an estimated total of Rs 31 crore on its fourth day at the box office. The multiplexes have shown huge growth as the top ten chains in the country recorded Rs 17 crore in just 650 cinemas with a growth ranging from 100-150%.
The fourth day will be the second biggest single day for Akshay Kumar after the Sunday of his last year’s ‘2.0’ (Hindi), which collected Rs 33.2 crore, also on its fourth day. It is also the single highest day ever for a comedy film beating the Rs 30.10 crore of ‘Golmaal Again’ which released in 2017, however, that was its first day.
‘Housefull 4’ has also recorded the third-highest Monday of time after ‘Bahubali – The Conclusion’ and ‘Tiger Zinda Hai.’
The four-day collections of the film will be around Rs 82 crore and could go a little higher. The film has shown exceptional growth in the northern circuits with single screens going housefull. The film did good in the South on Monday as the movie saw healthy numbers in the first three days in the region. Despite critics not favouring the film, word of mouth can work very well for it.
Directed by Farhad Samji, ‘Housefull 4’ boasts of an ensemble star cast that includes, Akshay Kumar,
, Kriti Kharbanda,
, Pooja Hegde in the lead roles. The film is the fourth installment of the hit comedy franchise. The film hits the screens on October 25 and clashed at the box office with Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Made In China’ and Taapsee Pannu-Bhumi Pednekar’s ‘Saand Ki Aankh’.
