According to a media report, the Skoda Karoq SUV could be launched in India in April 2020.
The report suggests that the Karoq would be imported as a completely built unit (CBU), under the government’s scheme which allows the import of 2,500 units without requiring them to be homologated in India.
In India, the Karoq is rumoured to get a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 148 BHP. The engine could be offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Skoda could also offer a diesel variant in the future.
